Install an OS via IPMI

Follow the steps below to install an operating system via IPMI.

Overview

To use the JAVA KVM tool, proceed to the JAVA KVM section of this guide.
To use the HTML KVM tool, proceed to the HTML KVM section of this guide.
 

JAVA KVM:

  1. Log into the Hosturly Dedicated Panel.
  1. Click Hardware, then click on your desired dedicated server.

  1. Click on Launch KVM.

  1. Your IP should automatically be filled into the ACL field. Click Add ACL to allow a connection to the ASRock Control Panel.

  1. Once done, a file will be downloaded to your computer named viewer.jnlp. You must have JAVA downloaded in order for it to run. Click on that file to launch KVM. You will then see a window that opens up that looks like the following.

  1. Click Media → Virtual Media Wizard. The following popup will appear. If there are not any options to select a media device and browse, please contact support to get resolved.

  1. Download your desired ISO for your Operating System and click the browse button. Once you select it, click the Open button.

  1. Then, click the Connect button. When connected, it will appear like the image below.

  1. Now, reboot the system and load into the boot manager by clicking F11. Then, select the USB/CD option.

HTML KVM:

  1. Log into the Hosturly Dedicated Panel.
  1. Click Hardware, then click on your desired dedicated server.

  1. Click on Open ASRock Rack Web Control Panel.

  1. Your IP should automatically be filled into the ACL field. Click Add ACL to allow a connection to the ASRock Control Panel.

  1. Then, log in with the credentials listed under Client Username and Client Password from the dedicated panel.

  1. Once you have loaded into the ASRock Rack Control Panel, click on Remote Control, then Launch HT5Viewer.

  1. A new window will appear with remote access to your dedicated server.

  1. To upload your ISO, click the Browse button in the top right corner. Once selected the ISO, click the Start Media button.

  1. Now, reboot the system and load into the boot manager by clicking F11. Then, select the USB/CD option.
