How to Create a FTP Account

Follow this guide to create an FTP account on your cPanel account.

  1. Login to the Client Area.
  1. Click on the Services.

  1. Select your active web hosting service.

  1. On the left sidebar, click Log in to cPanel.

  1. Once you are logged into cPanel, scroll down to Files, then click FTP Accounts.

  1. From here, you can add and manage existing FTP Accounts. To create an FTP account, simply choose a Log in, Password, Directory, and Quota.

  1. Once you have create an FTP account, you will it under FTP Accounts.

  1. Download an FTP client. We recommend Termius.
  1. Once downloaded, start Termius.
  1. Click on the Hosts button.

  1. Click + New Host.

  1. Fill in the Address field with the IP Address that can be found on the main cPanel page as labeled, Shared IP, or in the original email sent after ordering.

  1. Fill in the Port field with 21.

  1. Fill in the username with the one created.
    1. Notion image
  1. Fill in the password with the one created.
    1. Notion image
  1. Then, click the —> to save the host.

  1. Now, navigate to the SFTP section on Termius.

  1. Click on Select Host. Different hosts will appear depending on how many you created.

  1. Lastly, click on the box that you set for the login. You should now be connected and can manage the different files.
